The Club

Johor’s first eighteen.

The Johore Golf Club was incorporated on 27 February 1968, on 159 acres beside Tasek Utara. Dato’ Ahmad Adam, then Director of JKR Johor, laid out the course: the first nine holes were playable in 1970 and all eighteen by 1974 — the first 18-hole golf course in the State of Johor.

The Club has carried three names since — Tasek Utara Golf Club from 1971, Royal Johor Country Club after His Majesty Sultan Iskandar bestowed Royal Status in 1984, and Johor Golf and Country Club again from 2010. The course itself was rebuilt between 1991 and 1993 with new greens, new tee boxes and six additional lakes.
